The Silver Eyes Graphic Novel by: Scott Cawthon, Kira Breed-Wrisley, and Claudia Schröder

The Silver Eyes is mostly based off of the first three games of Five Nights at Freddy’s. For those who don’t know, Five Nights at Freddy’s is this horror game franchise created by Scott Cawthon. The basics of the first three games is that you are a nighttime security guard working at different locations within Freddy Fazbear’s company. While they work just fine in the daytime, the animatronics there can become a little quirky at night. Your goal is to survive each night with limited power and animatronics who are on the hunt for you.

Even though the original book is a novel, they did a great job of creating it as a graphic novel. The art is amazing and really shows the details of Freddy, Bonnie, and the rest of the crew. While the plot can be a little confusing at times, you can still make sense of what's happening. You can see where the plot of the book uses lore from the games and where its entirely new concepts.

The book stars Charlie who with her friends, decide to check out the old Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria on the 10th anniversary of the murders. When they find a way inside and start to check it out and find more than they were expecting. As they try to figure out how the murders are tied to Freddy's they also have to survive the animatronics who are on the hunt for them in the Pizzaria.

Charlie is the daughter of Henry Emily. In the game lore, Charlie was the first victim of the serial killer William Afton who co-founded the Fazbear company with Henry as his business partner. After her death she was found by the security puppet animatronic who allowed her soul to possess the puppet. She later helped the other child victims posses the animatronics. While it is clear that she is alive in this book, most of the murders that happened at Freddy's still happened.

This book is a thrilling horror that really pulls you into the world of Five Nights at Freddy's. If you're into the horror genre, than I recommend this book!

  1. Good review Chloe! I've only played a little of the game, and I think the concept is really interesting. I can imagine how the graphic novel would do a better job of showing the animatronics better than a book description. The game was very horrific and it keeps you on your toes. Great job!
